Celer is excited to announce that we’ve launched cBridge support for Blast Mainnet, a native yield optimistic rollup to Ethereum. This exciting development represents a major step forward in achieving seamless interoperability across more blockchain ecosystems! With this integration, Celer is introducing seamless token bridging to Blast Mainnet starting with the bridging of ETH. This enables users to transfer ETH between 10 different blockchain ecosystems including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum One, and Optimism with ease.
Blast is an Ethereum Layer-2 (L2) solution that offers native yield for both ETH and stablecoins through decentralized protocols such as ETH staking and RWA protocols, providing users with automatic returns. Unlike other L2 solutions where the default interest rate is 0%, Blast ensures a baseline yield of 4% for ETH and 5% for stablecoins. This native yield addresses the issue of losing value to inflation post Ethereum’s merge, offering a solution designed from scratch to incorporate yield natively. Blast operates through auto-rebasing mechanisms for both ETH and its native stablecoin USDB, leveraging L1 staking rewards, T-Bill protocols for stablecoin yields, and shares gas revenue with dApps developers, enabling new business models and experiences for decentralized applications.
Celer is supporting asset and token bridging initially via the xLiquidity model, a pool-based method, for token transfers between external chains and Blast Mainnet. Additionally, there is potential to integrate Celer’s Inter-chain Messaging Framework, a generic message passing protocol, to seamlessly enable developers to build dApps with cross-chain application logics on Blast in the future. This would enable dApps to not only create smooth cross-chain UXs between Blast and various external blockchains, but would lay down the foundation to support NFT bridges, the ability to purchase and bid on NFTs across different chains, and cross-chain reward claiming. All of these and more are not only possible to accomplish with Celer IM, but can be offered to users as a single-click, single-transaction UX.
