dForce integrates Celer IM into dForce Trade—Enabling Cross-Chain Token Swaps

2 min read

In early 2022, Celer partnered with dForce to enable cBridge support for bridging between different chains like Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, and Optimism quickly, securely and with extremely low costs. We are excited to announce that we are expanding the scope of our support to include the integration of the Celer Inter-chain Message (Celer IM) Framework with their DEX aggregator, dForce Trade, in order to allow users to perform cross-chain token swaps with any cBridge supported assets across Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, and Optimism—all with just a single click!

dForce advocates for building a complete set of DeFi protocols covering assets, lending, and trading. This is to serve as a layer 0 infrastructure in Web 3. As a blockchain agnostic protocol aiming to provide underlying infrastructure powering the development of DeFi, dForce has the ability to interact with differing protocols in various environments, giving users the freedom of choice to change between blockchains. By integrating with the Celer IM framework, dForce Trade further expands the freedom given to their users by allowing them not only swap their tokens on a single chain but enables them to perform a cross-chain swap.

dForce Trade will be able to source liquidity on both the original blockchain and the destination blockchain algorithmically to ensure the best price for their users while creating a smooth user experience by removing the multiple-step processes normally required to complete a cross-chain swap and replacing it with an easy single transaction with optimized gas costs.

For example, when a user wants to swap ETH on Ethereum to BNB on BNB Chain:

  • dForce Trade will simultaneously source liquidity and find the best price on Ethereum and BNB Chain, respectively.
  • To ensure the best price, dForce Trade will either swap ETH to BNB on Ethereum, and bridge BNB to BNB Chain; or bridge ETH to BNB Chain, and swap ETH to BNB for users.
  • There will be an estimated fee to cover trading fees charged by the underlying DEXes and cBridge, as well as gas fees incurred on BNB Chain.
  • Gas fees on Ethereum are going to be paid for by the user directly (included in the estimated fee charges).
  • dForce Trade will then execute all steps in a fully non-custodial way.

We hope to ensure the dForce ecosystem will continue to be vibrant and thrive, and we are looking forward to seeing how they will use Celer’s tech stack in the future!

About dForce

dForce advocates for building a complete set of DeFi protocols covering assets, lending, trading, serving as layer 0 infrastructure in Web 3. dForce is currently deployed on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, and BSC with a TVL of $197.7m.

Our core protocols include global-pool based lending and multi-currency stablecoins (USX and EUX). Implemented with PDLP (Protocol-Direct-Liquidity-Provision) and POO (Protocol-Owned-Operator), we are able to combat liquidity shortage effectively for protocols integrated with USX and EUX, and generate the highest possible return for DF holders.

dForce’s smart contracts are audited by Trail of Bits, ConsenSys Diligence, Certik and Certora, with a bug bounty launched through Immunefi.

About Celer Network

Celer is a blockchain interoperability protocol enabling a one-click user experience accessing tokens, DeFi, GameFi, NFTs, governance, privacy solutions and more across multiple chains. Developers can build inter-chain-native dApps using the Celer Inter-chain Message SDK to gain access to efficient liquidity utilization, coherent application logic, and shared states. Users of Celer-enabled dApps will enjoy the benefits of a diverse multi-blockchain ecosystem with the simplicity of a single-transaction UX, all from a single chain.
