Since Celer’s initial partnership announcement with the Oasis Network, we have continued to work with Oasis to bring enhanced interoperability and privacy to the blockchain ecosystem. Today we are thrilled to announce an exciting expansion to Celer’s support of Oasis; Celer’s state-of-the-art Celer Inter-Chain Messaging (Celer IM) Framework will serve as the message-passing bridge for Oasis Sapphire, the EVM-compatible privacy layer powered by the Oasis Network that offers a solution to the blockchain privacy paradox.
The Oasis Network has long been recognized for its commitment to privacy and data confidentiality. With the integration of Celer IM, Oasis Sapphire will further strengthen its privacy layer by leveraging Celer’s cutting-edge technology. Celer IM acts as a bridge between Oasis Sapphire and other blockchain networks, facilitating the secure and efficient exchange of messages and data. This interoperability enables developers to build entirely new privacy-centric dApps or add confidentiality to existing dApps on popular EVM networks using Sapphire as a privacy layer.
An example of this would be if a dApp wishes to use a decentralized ID system using personal information like height, age, or medical data—they would want to have some sort of system in place to ensure the privacy of this data as well as be able to verify the data. This means that storing it on chain is not really an option since on chain data storage can be queried and so the data is not private. This is where Oasis Sapphire, the Oasis Privacy Layer, and Celer IM come into play. The data can be stored on Oasis Sapphire as a confidential NFT/SBT, where the NFT owner may grant/revoke permissions to access the data. Using Celer IM, messages querying and verifying the data can be passed between the normal EVM chain where the dApp is and Oasis Sapphire. With the Oasis Privacy Layer, popular dApps, on all familiar EVM chains, can utilize Oasis’ privacy technology without having to migrate their entire application and user base to a different chain.
