Celer Announces cBridge Bridging Support for the Linea Mainnet

2 min read

Celer is excited to announce that we’ve launched cBridge support for the Linea Mainnet, a zkEVM L2 for Ethereum. This exciting development marks a significant milestone in our strategic partnership with Linea and represents a major step forward in achieving seamless interoperability across more blockchain ecosystems! With this integration, Celer is introducing seamless token bridging to the Linea Mainnet. Celer is starting off by supporting the bridging of BNB, BUSD, AVAX, and MATIC. This enables users to transfer these tokens between the different blockchain ecosystems with ease.

Celer-Bridged Token Addresses on Linea:

  • BNB – 0xf5C6825015280CdfD0b56903F9F8B5A2233476F5
  • BUSD – 0x7d43AABC515C356145049227CeE54B608342c0ad
  • AVAX – 0x5471ea8f739dd37E9B81Be9c5c77754D8AA953E4
  • MATIC – 0x265B25e22bcd7f10a5bD6E6410F10537Cc7567e8

Linea is an innovative Layer 2 (L2) blockchain solution powered by ConsenSys zkEVM. It represents the next generation of decentralized applications (dApps) built on Ethereum, offering developers seamless scalability and cost-efficiency. With Linea, developers can leverage the power of zero-knowledge proofs while maintaining full Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) equivalence. This enabled the creation and migration of scalable dApps without code changes. Linea’s approach prioritizes developer-friendliness, providing native integrations with popular tools like MetaMask and Truffle. Its innovative prover design ensures faster transaction speeds and reduced gas costs while maintaining robust security. By building on Linea, developers can unlock the potential of web3 and contribute to the ongoing journey of scaling Ethereum!

“Linea’s zkEVM serves as a catalyst, empowering developers to shape the future of decentralized applications  We are thrilled to announce the launch of cBridge support for the Linea Mainnet, a significant milestone that enables seamless token bridging within the ecosystem, allowing users to effortlessly transfer tokens between different blockchain ecosystems. By building on Linea, we provide developers the opportunity to unlock the full potential of web3 and contribute to the ongoing journey of scaling Ethereum,”– Nicolas Liochon, Global Product Lead for Linea.

Celer is supporting asset and token bridging initially via the xAsset model, a lock-and-mint method, for token transfers between external chains and Linea Mainnet. Additionally, discussions are underway to integrate Celer’s Inter-chain Messaging Framework, a generic message passing protocol, to seamlessly enable developers to build dApps with cross-chain application logics on Linea. This will enable dApps to not only create smooth cross-chain UXs between Linea and various external blockchains, but lays down the foundation to support NFT bridges, the ability to purchase and bid on NFTs across different chains, and cross-chain reward claiming. All of these and more are not only possible to accomplish with Celer IM, but can be offered to users as a single-click, single-transaction UX.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates as Celer continues to expand our interoperability efforts and support additional tokens and chains. The possibilities are endless, and we invite you to join us as Celer helps shape the future of interchain connectivity.
