Celer cBridge and IM Support Launched on ConsenSys zkEVM Testnet

2 min read

The pace of innovation and development in Web3 is always thrilling to witness, with new technologies and tools emerging at a rapid pace and we are committed to staying at the forefront of this evolution, seeking out new opportunities to grow and thrive in the Web3 ecosystem. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our latest expansion: supporting the ConsenSys zkEVM testnet with both cBridge for asset bridging and Celer Inter-chain Messaging (Celer IM) technology for secure, generic message passing. We believe that this integration will help unlock new levels of efficiency and privacy for Web3 applications and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!

ConsenSys, the company behind the popular MetaMask wallet and other blockchain technologies, aims to enable a decentralized future by building blockchain solutions that are secure, scalable, and efficient. One of the latest solutions they are testing is the ConsenSys zkEVM. (Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine) This is a protocol that enables private transactions on the Ethereum blockchain using zero-knowledge proofs. The zkEVM allows developers to create and execute smart contracts that are fully private, meaning that the details of the transaction are kept hidden from anyone who is not directly involved in the transaction.

Our support for the ConsenSys zkEVM initially includes bridging via the xAsset (lock-and-mint) model between BNB Chain, Avalanche, and Polygon. Additionally we are also supporting ConsenSys zkEVM with Celer IM so that projects are able to build cross-chain application logics across the ConsenSys zkEVM testnet and the 10+ other blockchains that Celer-IM supports. We plan to add additional bridging support via xLiquidity, our liquidity-pool based model, for tokens natively issued or bridged onto the ConsenSys zkEVM after it launches on mainnet and becomes more battle-tested.

We hope to ensure the ConsenSys zkEVM ecosystem will become vibrant and thrive, and we are looking forward to seeing how developers will use Celer’s tech stack in this initial beta release of the testnet and are excited to see where it goes!
