Celer Network is happy to announce that we have successfully integrated support for both cBridge asset bridging and Celer Inter-chain Messaging (Celer IM) generic message passing technology for the Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM), an EVM compatible runtime environment for smart contracts on the Filecoin network! This initial integration will allow cross-chain bridging for the following assets: USDC, WETH, WBTC, and USDT between the FVM and Ethereum! Users will be able to transfer these assets seamlessly across all Celer-supported chains, all while enjoying Celer Network’s fast finality, low-costs, and extremely secure services.

Filecoin virtual machine (FVM) is a runtime environment for smart contracts, also called actors, on the Filecoin network. These smart contracts can be written in Solidity, and eventually any language that compiles to WASM will be supported. Smart contracts enable users to create and enforce rules for storing and accessing data on the network. The FVM is responsible for executing these smart contracts and ensuring that they are executed correctly and securely.
Our support for the Filecoin VM initially includes bridging via the xAsset (lock-and-mint) model between FVM and Ethereum. Additionally we are also supporting them with Celer IM technology to help the FVM ecosystem partners build cross-chain functionality. Smart contracts on any supported chain can now call protocols on FVM for use cases like cross-chain storage payment and deal auctions. We plan to add additional bridging support for more EVM tokens onto the Filecoin VM in the future, so be sure to keep an eye out for announcements!
